Ebony Spleenwort (Asplenium platyneuron)

Other Names: Bbony spleenwort or brownstem spleenwort


Description: In summer it can grow to be almost a foot high with ladder-like leaves. They have shining dark stems and axis. The leaves are distinctly spaced and not opposite one another. Usually found as one, two, or three plants and are sometimes found as colonies.


Habitat: They are found in shaded areas or fields and along banks, walls, roots, rocks, or fences. They lie to grow in well-drained rocky soils.
